: Education that teaches values, ethics and morality and inculcates humaneness and good thought is need of the hour.

At present, the country has several universities and several higher educational institutions.

In his presidential address, university Vice-Chancellor SM Ramasamy stated positive thinking in Gandhian way would tackle all problems faced by the people today.
With rapid development of science and technology, the world had become not only highly competitive but also a complicated one.
Terrorism, bomb blasts, murder and robbery were on the rise. Tolerance, humanness and brotherhood only would solve such clashes.
The university's former Vice-Chancellor N. Markandan, in his special address, said non-violence, simple life style and other human qualities could help youth face challenges boldly and solve problems of the present day world successfully.

Youth should be independent and have constructive thinking to achieve. Self-evaluation and continuous learning should become a non-stop process throughout one's life.
Youth should understand Gandhi properly and chalk out new strategies in tune with modern conditions without deviating from core eternal human values which were followed by Gandhi in his private and public life, former VC advised.
